Reiki Healing Symbols

There is some controversy around the Reiki healing symbols.  Certainly they are sacred symbols and should be honored.  They were kept hidden for many years.  Passed down from master to student only during Reiki attunements.  I choose to share them on this site as they were published in book form years ago and are currently readily available all over the internet.  Symbols are useful but without the attunement process the symbols will be of little value on their own.  I present them here for your knowledge and hope if you plan on learning more about Reiki that eventually you will do so with a Reiki master.  Some things simply need to be experienced in person.

The main three reiki healing symbols are the ones I will discuss on this page. They are given to practitioners who have had the level two attunement.  There are other symbols that are given to Reiki Masters, since I have yet to work with those symbols, I prefer not to share them at this time.  You may view them at the link below.

More Reiki Healing Symbols

Reiki symbols are Sanskrit-derived Japanese forms.  They are:  (1) Cho Ku Rei (pronoucedchoh koo ray”)-  the Power symbol, (2) Sei He Ki (pronouced “Say Heh Kee”) - the Emotional symbol and (3) Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (pronounced “Hon shah zah shoh nen”) the Distance symbol

Cho Ku Re

Cho Ku Rei translated means:
Cho – full
Ku – ceremonial vessel
Rei – transcended mystery, Universal Life Force

The literal translation is: “Fill this with universal energy”.  I was taught that the symbol basically says “Put the power here!”.  This symbol is used a lot.  It works as protection and purification.  It’s good for raising energy.

Sei He Ki

Sei He Ki translated means:
Sei- Well Being
He- Creator
Ki- Personal Life Force

The literal translation is “Man and God becoming one”.  This symbol is used for emotional and mental healing.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen translated means:
Hon- Origin
Sha- Person
Ze- Through a tunnel of Light to a higher dimension
Sho- Real
Nen- Prayer, Psychic Power, Meditation

The literally translation is: “The divine in me reaches out to the divine in you!”.  This symbol is used for distance healing both physical distance and distance in time.  It creates a bridge beyond time and space.  Thus, you can sending healing energy to someone across the country or in another country.  Or you can send healing energy to a specific person in time, in the past or the future.
