Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an tapping process developed by Gary Craig that works with the mind-body energy system to eliminate all kinds of emotional, mental and physical distress. It’s often described as a needle free version of acupuncture. EFT is based on new discoveries regarding the connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and your health and has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues. It often works where nothing else will. I was exposed to EFT through several sources and I have found it very helpful. Especially in bringing down the intensity of some old emotional pain.

There are two things I really like about this process. First, anyone can
learn and use it. You don't need specialized schooling for it. And it’s clear
Gary Craig is very concerned about helping people as he gives away the basic
methods on his site as a free
download. After you read the basic
instructions, you can
perform your first "rounds" of personal tapping in a few minutes.

As you begin using these techniques, I’d urge you to share these procedures
with your physician(s) (even if they may be skeptical) as they may reduce the
need for drugs and other therapies. Still as with everything offered here in
this site (See Disclaimer),
nothing should be considered a medical claim or medical advice and if you are
under a physicians care by all means continue with the traditional therapies as
well as adding these alternative therapies. It will become clear what is
working best for you so that you and your doctor can make those decisions together.

History
EFT is based on the discovery by
Dr. Roger Callahan that emotional discomfort is caused by a disruption in the
mind/body energy system. Dr. Callahan combined the tapping of acupuncture
points with modern techniques (kinesiology) and developed what he called
Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Gary Craig was trained by Dr. Callahan and then
streamlined TFT into Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).
While tapping on acupressure
points along meridians, or pathways of energy throughout the body, and being
tuned in to a specific problem or issue, the mind/body energy system is
"straightened out," and the energy becomes available so we can heal.
Anyone interested in helping
themselves or others benefits from EFT. Lots of people use EFT - I personally
have found it extremely helpful in releasing blocks. And I continually receive
information on how effective this treatment can be.
