Depression Test

It would be nice if there were a physical depression test, like a blood test, that would tell you definitely whether or not your are ordinarily depressed, clinically depressed, seasonally depressed, bipolar, manic depressive or whatever. Unfortunately, there isn’t an MRI to diagnose chemical brain difficulties. So, it comes down to self diagnosis guided by trusted physicians, psychiatrists and psychologists. When I was in a lot of pain, I went to the internet looking for a test I could take that would give me an idea of whether or not I needed help. I looked long and hard, spent lots of hours and found few that satisfied me and prompted me to seek real help.

If you are feeling depressed and looking on the internet for a test to tell you whether or not you need help, you should seek help. No psychologist or doctor is going to ridicule you for seeking help. Most of the time people wait far too long to get the assistance they need.

Depression Tests

There seem to be two kinds that are popular on the internet at the moment. (1) You take the test and some algorithm scores the test for you and tells you if you should seek help. (2) You take the test, tally yours scores and print this out and take it with you when you go to seek help. I preferred the ones that did the math for me but they both have value.
Tests that do the math for you.
