Depression self help.
Many people who suffer from depression or other mental illnesses don’t
seek out the help they need. Why? Well, much of society doesn’t support getting
help. You’re friends and family may tell you that you’re just going through a
bad patch and you’ll be fine - so you ignore the symptoms and wait it out. You
may feel ashamed or think you should be able to get better on
your own. I’ve been through ALL of these and I’m here to encourage you to get
help. I’ve always believed in self-help and I’ll share with you the depression
self-help tools I have. Sometimes our
depression is caused from too much stress. But sometimes we need help from outside
ourselves, in the form of guidance, support and different kinds of healing.
I’ve been at the bottom of that black hole and I know how much it hurts. I’ve
had people in the past say to me “You’re just thinking negatively” so I tried
to think differently, and feel differently and it took me a long
time to seek outside help.

Some of the Depression Self-Help Tools I’ve used are:
Nutrition and
Exercise
EFT
(Emotional Freedom Technique)
Reiki
Meditation
A good site for those interested in Meditation is Lifechoice

path of meditation and wholesome living.
Hypnosis

Getting involved with your spirituality
But if the above don’t help you, or you consistently
experience uncontrollable emotions, feelings, thoughts, get some professional
help.
There’s a lot of help out there, just send an email, or place a call 1-800-273-8255.

Many artists create when they are depressed simply to get the thoughts in their heads out of there. Sometimes by putting your thoughts on paper, or computer or in a song or picture you separate from them a bit and you gain perspective. Call it Art therapy or "I write my best stuff when I'm unhappy", it can be a fulfilling form of Depression Self Help.
Depression Poems
|
"I
am the most miserable man living.
If what I feel were equally distributed to the whole human family, there
would not be a cheerful face on earth.
Whether I shall ever be better I cannot tell;
I awfully forbode I shall not.
To remain as I am is impossible.
I must die or be better.” - Abraham Lincoln
